We’ve committed to all sorts of challenges…. The London Marathon, Tough Mudder, Bike Rides, Triathlons and more, supporting a variety of charities along the way. I have been keen to concentrate our attention and select a charity that we can get to know and support on a regular basis. So, I asked everyone at BarrettClark Executive Search to do some research, to then come back and present a charity the felt they would like to recommend to the team…. with one proviso – the charity should be relevant to our business.
It was a great exercise and, in a recent get together in our Boardroom, we watched numerous video presentations on the great works being done by UK based charities.
The charity that we unanimously chose is Smart Works. As well as their amazing work, they are uniquely aligned to our business.
Smart Works provides high quality interview clothes, styling advice and interview training to women in need. They give women the confidence, the self-belief and the practical tools they require to succeed at interview and start a new chapter in their life.
The success and impact of Smart Works is driven by the skills of their volunteers so everyone at BarrettClark Executive Search has committed to give a full day of their time this year so Smart Works. We will be able to help them to provide essential interview advice so that their clients succeed – and I hope to be the first of us to give a day of my time. In addition, we have committed to a “challenge” in 2018 combining to raise £10,000 for Smart Works. I look forward to finding out much more about this interesting and worthwhile organisation and no doubt will let you know how we get on!
